Multifab Metals Engineering Ltd is a leading name in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality structural and secondary steelwork. For nearly 25 years, we’ve delivered exceptional steel fabrication and sheet metal solutions across multiple sectors.
We’re now looking for an Assistant / Graduate Contracts Manager to join our experienced commercial team in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or trainee with a background in construction, project management, or quantity surveying who’s eager to develop a long-term career within the steel industry.
The Role
Working alongside senior managers, you’ll assist in all aspects of contract and project management — from tender through to completion. You’ll gain hands-on experience managing live projects and develop the skills required to progress into a full Contracts Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the preparation of tender enquiries and project documentation.

Attend pre-contract, design, and project meetings with senior colleagues.

Assist in day-to-day project management, including subcontractors, on-site teams, and logistics.

Help manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.

Keep project contracts up to date and assist with monthly financial reporting.

Prepare and maintain detailed proposals, cost databases, and estimate logs.

Provide project support to the team during busy periods, holidays, or absences.
About You

Degree or relevant qualification in Construction, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

Previous experience (placement or trainee level) within construction or steelwork is advantageous.

Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Organised, proactive, and keen to learn within a fast-paced environment.

Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Projects.

A collaborative team player who can also work independently when required.
